LOVA, the Netherlands Association for Feminist Anthropology and Gender Studies,  offers a platform for anyone within and outside of academia with an interest in gender issues from an anthropological perspective. Every year we publish a journal with research articles, essays, columns, interviews, book reviews, and announcements.

In order to foster innovative thinking, inclusive research, and intergenerational solidarity within the academic world, LOVA particularly encourages Master’s and  PhD students to publish their ideas and findings in the journal. LOVA Journal also welcomes contributions of graduates working within a non-academic environment or employed by a university or research institution.

Submissions to LOVA Journal will be selected for publication according to  (ethnographic) quality, originality, and methodological and/or theoretical novelty.  Research articles are peer-reviewed.

Besides written contributions, we also call for visual material. We are looking for illustrations, photographs, drawings, maps, and infographics – all of which can be experiential and experimental.

LOVA Journal invites authors who wish to publish on issues in the field of feminist anthropology and gender studies to submit an abstract of no more than 200 words to before June 15, 2022. Once your abstract has been accepted, the deadline for submitting your full paper is August 15, 2022. Final acceptance is subject to peer review.
