LOVA offers a platform for anyone within and outside of academia with an interest in feminist anthropology and ethnographic gender studies. Each year we publish a LOVA Journal in hard copy for members. It consists of research articles, (photo) essays, fieldwork reflections, interviews, book reviews, and personalia with announcements of LOVA members.

We select research articles for publication according to (ethnographic) quality, originality, and methodological and/or theoretical novelty. These articles of a maximum of 6000 words will be peer-reviewed. Fieldwork reflections, essays, and book reviews can vary from 700 to 2000 words. LOVA Journal also welcomes visual contributions, such as illustrations, photographs, drawings, maps, and info-graphics – all of which can be experiential and experimental.

In particular, we encourage Master’s and Ph.D. students to publish their ideas and findings in the journal and offer them support in the writing process. LOVA Journal also welcomes contributions of graduates working within a non-academic environment or employed by a university or research institution.
