Fieldwork Experiences in Times of Covid-19 Pandemic

Open Call for Contributions

LOVA Journal invites Master’s and PhD students interested in feminist anthropology and gender issues, to submit a contribution reflecting on their fieldwork experiences in times of Covid-19 pandemic.

How was your ethnographic research influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic since March 2020? Was your fieldwork already finished but were your data analysis or writing the report disrupted by the lockdown? Or were you in the field when the pandemic started? Could you continue the research with changed research methods? Did you have to return home? What were the consequences of leaving the people you worked with? What moral dilemmas did you face when making choices? What became challenging in terms of your personal and political certainties?

We would like to receive your autoethnographic account of how the pandemic impacted you professionally and/or personally as an ethnographic researcher. Please, mention explicitly how your interest in feminism and gender was related to your experiences and decisions.

Contributions with no more than 1,000 words should be submitted to by 30 September 2020.

Questions are welcomed and may be directed to the same email address. We look forward to hearing from you.
