The board of LOVA invites applications for the position of Board Member with a special focus on communication and PR. LOVA Network for Gender Studies and Feminist Anthropology (based in The Netherlands) is an active network that aims to promote gender studies and feminist anthropology and to communicate new theoretical insights to LOVA members and a broader audience both within and outside of academia. The main tasks for the new board member will be:
- coordinating the maintenance of the website (we have technical support in place, but an understanding of WordPress is required)
- coordinating the regular updates of social media (at this point primarily Facebook)
- coordinating the PR for LOVA activities
- develop new ideas to promote LOVA, nationally and internationally
LOVA offers the opportunity to extend your network internationally and enhance your personal development outside of your own work/study environment. You will be able to influence the direction and communication goals of LOVA. As a board member, you will work with a committed, creative and enthusiastic group of people. The board meets around four times per year. All work is done on a voluntary basis. Most of the work is done by email and the intensity differs per week/month. Creativity and flexibility are a priority for us!
Candidates with a background in anthropology, qualitative sociology, geography, gender studies, and like-minded disciplines are invited to apply. Please describe your views on gender awareness and feminism as well as prior experience in your application. We especially encourage applicants from underrepresented groups and with diverse backgrounds to apply.
Applications, including a short letter and CV, can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org until January 31, 2021.
