LOVA invites applications for the position of Editorial Board member of the LOVA Journal for a two-year term, starting as soon as possible.

LOVA, the Netherlands Association for Feminist Anthropology and Gender Studies, is an active international network that aims to promote feminist anthropology and gender studies and to communicate new theoretical insights to a broad audience both within and outside of academia.

One of the main pillars of LOVA is the publication of an annual issue of our peer-reviewed journal. The reviewing process for the LOVA Journal answers to our engagement with feminist ethnography and gender issues. We specifically focus on innovative thinking and inclusive research by way of methodological and/or theoretical novelty, originality, and quality. To foster intergenerational solidarity, LOVA Journal encourages Master’s and PhD students to publish their research results in our journal. We also want to stimulate non-academic graduates to contribute. LOVA Journal furthermore publishes reports and announcements of LOVA activities.

The LOVA Board invites candidates with a background in feminist anthropology, qualitative sociology, geography, gender studies, and like-minded disciplines. Prior editorial experience is not required but is appreciated.

We especially encourage applicants from underrepresented groups and a range of backgrounds, including racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual identities. Gaining experience on an editorial board of a semi-academic journal will enhance your career inside and outside of academia.

Applications can be sent to, by June 15, 2022.

Potential applicants with queries regarding aspects of the tasks of LOVA Journal editors can contact LOVA’s chair Jasmijn Rana (, or LOVA Journal’s chief editor  Elsa Charléty (
